Seminar series

The Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods hosts seminars to discuss a variety of theoretical and practical issues of sustainable livelihoods in Africa.

We have three major goals for the seminar series:

  1. To foster increased understanding of the sustainable livelihoods framework among interested faculty members, staff, and students at ISU.
  2. To highlight current interdisciplinary research activities and interests of ISU faculty members and students, particularly in collaboration with CSRL's partner organizations in Uganda (Makerere University and Volunteer Efforts for Development Concerns).
  3. To identify areas among faculty and students that have research and development potential and will contribute to improving the well being of rural Ugandans.
