"My home was in such a sorry state that when the community selected me, VEDCO almost refused to put the project here, had it not been my earnest pleading with them. During that time I was a tailor and I was earning so little, my children were always hungry and my husbands was always away from home. He deserted the home because of poverty."
"Since I started working with VEDCO, we have enough food in the house because we cleared all the bushes and planted food. We have 3 meals instead of one, the children are going to school, and above all my husband came back home. I have also established one acre of cassava and two acres of pineapples as an income generating activities."
"I now host so many visitors from my community, Uganda and outside Uganda as far as USA, which has given me courage, confidence and respect by the community and my husband."
